About

Founder and communication skills coach Lauren Garlick is passionate about supporting people to craft their message and tell it in a way that sparks, inspires, and impacts others.

“We all have a wealth of ideas,” Lauren comments. “I help you find the words and confidence to share them powerfully and authentically.”

Lauren’s vast experience in education, theater, and public speaking, along with her international background, gives her the skills to work with a broad range of clients. She has coached and conducted workshops in large corporations, nonprofits, academic institutions, and medical centers, and worked with individual entrepreneurs, university students, and professionals in many fields.

Lauren’s approach is creative, intuitive, and collaborative. And she inspires these qualities in others. Lauded for getting the job done efficiently and effectively, Lauren believes that it doesn’t take a lot of time to change: “When you know how to draw out the essence of someone’s story, transformation happens quickly.”

Beyond her coaching work, Lauren’s passion for creative expression spans several areas. She is an avid ceramicist, painter, and poet and also enjoys tennis and yoga. Lauren lives with her husband in Brookline, Massachusetts.

“My dream is to help people understand the power of speech and use it to make our world more connected. I do this by supporting people who want to reach out and inspire one another.”

What Shaped Lauren’s Work?

Growing up, studying, and teaching in a turbulent South Africa brought home the urgency to help people access their voice and articulate their message.

Later, when Lauren lived in Israel, she served as chair of the English Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Rothberg International School. There she developed innovative approaches to support the smooth integration of new immigrants into university studies.

After moving to the U.S., Lauren designed communication development seminars for leaders in diverse fields and also taught acting in the Department of Theatre Arts at Stony Brook University in New York. As the Director of Field Experience in the university’s Professional Education Program, Lauren trained teachers to become leading communicators in the classroom, in their communities, and at conferences. She received Stony Brook University’s President’s Award and the New York State Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
